Grayscale Turns On ETH Staking Will ETFs Change the Game?
Grayscale has switched on staking for its U.S. Ethereum funds, letting its Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) and Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH) earn on-chain rewards while still giving investors spot ETH exposure, it also activated staking for its Solana Trust (GSOL). The company says it will stake “passively” through institutional custodians and a network of validator providers, aiming to boost investor returns and help secure the networks. If the move draws in yield seeking investors, it could lift demand for ETH, push competitors to add staking, and gradually reduce circulating supply as more coins are locked, though tax treatment, fees, and any future SEC guidance remain key caveats.
